WRITER AND POLITICAL COMMENTATOR
Siobhán Fenton is a writer, journalist and feminist campaigner.
Her writing has been published by The Irish Independent, The Irish Times, The Guardian and The New Statesman. She has appeared as a political commentator for outlets including RTÉ, the BBC and Sky News.
Her first book The Good Friday Agreement was published in 2018 and she has delivered lectures and seminars about the Good Friday Agreement and Northern Irish politics at universities including the University of Cambridge, Queen’s University Belfast, Cardiff University and the University of Tübingen in Germany. She was a contributing writer to the Repeal The 8th Anthology, writing about abortion legislation in the north of Ireland.
As a feminist activist, she was elected to the Executive Board of the National Women’s Council of Ireland in 2024. She has previously been Board Chair of 50:50NI from 2020-2024 campaigning for equal gender representation in northern Irish politics and has campaigned for abortion rights in the north and south of Ireland.
She holds a BA in English Literature from the University of Oxford, MA in Journalism from City University London and MPhil in Gender Studies from the University of Cambridge, where her research focused on sexual violence prevalence and prevention.
